Who I Am, Sans Politics and Writing
A journal exercise to point out some fun facts about me that have nothing to do with the two biggest parts of me (which I tend to consider all of me)
I'm the kind of person who takes notes while I read a non-fiction book—partially because it helps with retention and partially because I may be planning a project based on it.
I like sharks because they're ancient and diverse and majestic and mysterious. It adds fuel to the fire that they're widely misunderstood creatures.
I watch Doctor Who because it was a show I shared with my dad as a kid, and because the Doctor is a walking contradiction. They fascinate me. My favorite is Peter Capaldi, but I wish Jodi Whittaker had better writers; I thought she did an excellent job with the hand she was dealt. Ncuti Gatwa was fun and I loved his emotion, but I'm skeptical with the return of Billie Piper.
I shoot pool semi-regularly, and I'm half-decent at it. It's a game that takes me out of my head and puts me in a calmer place. It's also a pretty rad social lubricant. It creates natural breaks in conversation, and I know what to do with my hands, most of the time. Everyone chooses games based on how awkward they don't feel when they play, right?
Speaking of games, I've been enjoying playing Hollow Knight, sort of. And by enjoying I mean hating, but with glee. I'm proud of how far I've gotten as someone who is legitimately trash at video games. I'm not sure I'll beat it, and I have no interest in playing Silk Song.
Word games are my favorite! Contact is my all-time favorite party game, because I'm the world's largest dweeb. :)
I'm a Libra Sun AND Rising (Leo Moon) and I don't know if that really means anything, but I dunno... maybe it does. I am indecisive and diplomatic, and I do have a strong sense of justice. Anyway, I find a little bit of joy in being on Team Libra, even if it's silly nonsense.
I like my coffee black. Give me a nice smooth medium roast breakfast blend, pleeease!
I'm generous and I don't need acknowledgement. I just genuinely like to make people happy, even if I don't get to see the glow.
I don't like to stand out, but I also don't like to blend all the way in. So... square that however you see fit.
